Meditation and Brainwave Control 2

Taking Control of Your Meditation in the Hypnogogic State

As newbie meditators, most of us learn to observe and interpret the colors, symbols and images swirling about in our heads.

The actual real power in meditation is our ability to actually take control and make sense of our meditation experience then put it to work for us.

It is in the hypnogogic state, the one between wakefulness and sleep that your power to control your meditations is fully realized.

While in the hypnogogic state, many experiences can be explored. You may decide to solve a problem, return to a pleasant place from the past or follow a fantasy. Some meditators and lucid dreamers have claimed to receive special codes or messages when they reach this state, such as a computer programmer receiving the code to finish his program or a scientist being given insight into a scientific problem.

The developers of most modern forms of energy healing claim to have received knowledge of new modalities and inspiration through this hypnogogic state. The founder of Reiki, Dr. Mikao Usui, is one famous example.

If you are one of the more adventuresome types, the hypnogogic state may also be the launch pad to out-of-body (OBE) experiences, also called astral projection or transporting. Today, most psychologists agree that our dreams are a window into our internal psychological life.

Through brainwave control, we can open this window and pass through. While some adventurous types may fly over Turkmenistan, others may choose to focus on their internal life and face and explore problems, fears and anxieties in their meditations.

Enter A Deep Meditative State

Creating your own reality in the hypnogogic state starts with brainwave control. Hypnogogic meditation involves maintaining the balance between the sleep and dream state while remaining conscious that you are in a meditative state. Holding this state and working within it.

First, go into a state of deep meditation. Remain cognizant that you are in a meditative state. The main key here is to reach that deep meditative state, holding onto it for at least 10 minutes before you enter into the hypnogogic or lucid dreaming state.

Brainwave entrainment techniques such as binaural beats or isochronic tones for alpha meditation can help you gain the brainwave control you need and achieve a state of deeper meditation.

Activate Your Meditation/Dream State

Imagine a scene and start to bring it to life. It may be you are stressed out at work and can hardly wait to escape to your cottage at the end of the week. Take yourself to your cottage.

What do you see? hear? smell? Actually walk along the path to the front door or to the lakefront dock. Remember what the stones or grass feel like under your feet as you walk along.

Are you even more adventurous? It may be that you are fascinated with medieval castles and want to visit one. Take yourself there – stare down the alligators as you cross the moat.

If you have a fear you want to overcome, ask to face it head on in your virtual world.Explore the experiences and triggers that are associated with this fear to help you come to some sort of resolution.

As with anything in life, if you have a definite purpose you’ll be more successful in achieving your meditation goal. Start by establishing your intent for your meditation. As you observe your meditation in a conscious state, remind yourself of this intent.

Ask questions that may illicit responses that you want to receive from your meditation. Then listen to your answers, they’ll come. Most importantly, use brainwave control to maintain this powerful state – hum at the corresponding frequency if that helps.

Never underestimate what you can achieve. Once in this state, you have access to universal consciousness and all of the knowledge in the universe which is what Charles F. Haanel was talking about in the Mastermind Key system.
Haanels’ system, combined with binaural beats or isochronic tones can help you to understand and maintain the state of mind you need in meditation to get answers to your questions.
